How the Book Launch Checklist Works
The list is grouped into six stages: manuscript, design, publishing setup, pre-launch, launch week and after launch. Each stage lists the steps most books need, in rough order.
Ticks are stored in your browser's local storage, so they stay on your device. Clearing your browser data or switching browsers resets them. The progress bar shows the share of steps you have ticked.
Things to Know Before You Rely on the Result
- Your book may not need every step, and some steps vary by retailer.
- Allow extra time for proofs, ISBN setup and retailer approval.
- Use the publishing timeline calculator to turn the stages into dates.
