01

How to Submit Your Manuscript for Publication

The form takes about as long as a cup of coffee. It has four steps:

  1. About you. Your name and email, plus a phone number and country if you want to add them.
  2. Your book. The working title, genre, where the book is now and its approximate word count.
  3. Manuscript and goals. Upload your pages, add a short synopsis and choose the help you are looking for.
  4. Review and submit. Check your answers and confirm that you hold the rights to the work.

You will see a confirmation when your submission has gone through, and from that point the next move is ours.

02

What to Send

You do not need a perfect package. A few clear pieces help us give you a useful answer.

Your manuscript or a sample

Upload a Word, PDF, RTF or Pages file, up to 25 MB. The first three chapters are enough for a first read. If you have only notes or an outline, send those instead, and we will point you toward the right starting service, such as ghostwriting services.

A short synopsis

Tell us what the book is about, who it is for and why you are the person to write it. A few paragraphs are plenty. Plain language beats clever language here, and honesty about weak spots helps us help you.

About you and your goals

Tell us whether you want a book for your business, a family keepsake or a wide commercial release.

The help you want

Pick any of ghostwriting, editing, cover design, publishing or marketing, or choose "not sure yet," which is a perfectly good answer.

A few simple habits make a file easier to read. Put the title and your name on the first page, keep chapter headings consistent and send one document rather than a folder of scraps. Do not spend days on formatting, though. We are reading for the story and the argument, and formatting can be fixed later.

03

What Happens After You Submit

Your submission goes to a person on our team, not into an automatic system. They read your sample and synopsis in confidence, look at where the book stands and think about what it needs.

We reply within one business day. The reply tells you what we saw, what we suggest as a next step and whether a call would help. We do not quote review times beyond that, because every book is different and we would rather be honest than make up a number.

If you decide to go ahead, we send a fixed quote in writing before any work starts, split into milestones, with no hidden fees. You can see typical starting prices on our pricing page, and a project manager becomes your single point of contact. Revision rounds are built in at each key stage, so you stay in control as the book develops. If your manuscript is nearly ready for readers, the next stage might be book editing services.

04

What to Expect From Us

We are a service provider, not a gatekeeper. We do not accept or reject books the way a traditional publisher does, and we do not hold your book to a market test before we help you.

We also will not promise that your book will sell, earn reviews or become a bestseller, because nobody can promise that honestly. What we can promise is a clear opinion, a clear quote and a team that does what it says.

Sometimes the best advice is that your manuscript needs something other than what you came for, or that it is not ready yet. We will say so plainly, even when it means recommending a smaller and cheaper service than the one you expected, because a happy author is better for us than a large invoice. Take any publisher you consider through the checklists at Writer Beware, including us.

05

Submitting to Us Versus a Traditional Publisher

A traditional publisher usually asks you to find a literary agent first, then waits for an acquiring editor to say yes. That route can bring wide reach, but it is slow and selective, and the publisher normally holds certain rights for years. The Authors Guild publishes contract advice if you are weighing offers.

Working with us works differently. You hire us for the services you need, you keep 100% of your rights and royalties, and the schedule is agreed with you. Our book publishing services are built for authors who want that control. Neither route is wrong; they suit different goals and different temperaments.

06

Confidentiality and Your Rights

You hold the rights to your work, and you confirm that when you submit. We read it in confidence to assess your project, and it stays yours if we never work together. We do not claim any share of your work by reading it. Your copyright, your credit and your royalties remain with you at every stage. You can also register your copyright yourself at any time. Learn more about us if you want to know who is reading your pages.

Manuscript Submission FAQs

Do I need a finished manuscript to submit?

No. You can submit a full manuscript, a few chapters, an outline or just an idea. The form asks where your book is now, so we know what kind of help to suggest, whether that is writing, editing or publishing.

What file types can I send?

Word, PDF, RTF and Pages files, up to 25 MB. The first three chapters are enough for a first read, so you do not need to send a huge file.

How long until I hear back?

We reply within one business day. That first reply gives you honest next steps, and if you want to continue, we follow with a fixed quote in writing before any work begins.

Do I need a literary agent to submit?

No. We work directly with authors, so you do not need an agent, a query letter or a book proposal. A short synopsis and a sample are enough to start a conversation.

Will you keep my manuscript confidential?

Yes. We read submissions in confidence, only to assess your project. You keep the copyright, and you confirm you hold the rights when you submit.
