Some clients have a single great premise. Others have a finished novel, a family story or a rough first draft that needs a skilled hand. Get a free consultation and tell us what you have. The work is part of our wider ghostwriting services, with the same confidentiality and ownership terms.

01

What Screenplay Writing Services Are

A ghostwritten screenplay starts with your material and ends with a script you own. We interview you, study your notes or source book and draft the screenplay. You review each stage and steer the story.

It differs from script coverage, which evaluates a script someone already wrote, and from script editing, which improves an existing draft. We do write new material, and we can also polish or restructure a draft you bring us if the quote says so.

One honest note on credit. On a produced film or series, screen credit may be decided by industry rules, such as those of the guild that covers the production, and not by a private agreement. For a spec script you control, the arrangements in your contract with us apply. We explain both at the start so there are no surprises, and we put the arrangement in writing. For shorter commercial projects such as video and stage, see our script writing services.

02

Who Hires a Screenwriter

Authors who want their novel imagined for the screen. People with a true story, as covered in our real-life story writing services, who want it dramatized. Entrepreneurs and producers with a concept but no time to write. Filmmakers who need a short script for a festival or a funding application.

Some come back for a second script once they see how the process works. You do not need to know screenplay format or have written before. You need a story worth telling and a willingness to answer a lot of questions about it.

03

Screenplay Projects We Write

Each format has its own length and rules, and we agree on them before we begin.

Feature screenplays

A feature script is commonly around ninety to a hundred and twenty pages in standard screenplay format, where a page roughly equals a minute of screen time. Many writers use tools such as Final Draft for formatting. We build the structure first, then write the scenes. Your hero's want, the obstacles and the turning points are settled on a one-page map, so the draft does not wander. Visual storytelling matters most: if a feeling can be shown, we avoid having a character explain it.

Short films

Short scripts range from a few pages to about thirty. They reward one strong idea, a tight cast and an ending that lands. Many are written for festivals, class projects or a showcase for a feature idea. Because shorts are cheap to shoot, they are often the best first step for a first-time filmmaker.

TV pilots and series bibles

A pilot script introduces your world and characters. A series bible lays out where the show goes across a season and beyond. Together they show a buyer that the idea can last. We build in the engine of the show: the recurring conflict that produces new stories every week.

Book-to-screen adaptations

Adapting a novel or memoir means deciding what stays, what changes and what gets cut. You keep the rights in your book, and we help you decide what the screen version needs. A novel with a long inner life usually needs new scenes that show what the narrator only describes, and subplots are often trimmed or merged. If you also wish to bring the story to a graphic format, see our comic book writers.

Loglines, treatments and synopses

The short documents that often come before a script: a one-sentence logline, a few pages of treatment and a synopsis you can send with a pitch. Writing these first often reveals gaps in a story before the expensive part begins.

04

How Our Screenplay Process Works

  1. Consultation. We discuss the story, the format, the audience and your goals. An NDA is signed before we see your material.
  2. Story development. We build a logline, characters and a beat outline. You approve the story before any scene is written.
  3. Treatment. For longer projects, a short prose version of the story lets you test the structure cheaply, before a single page of screenplay is written.
  4. First draft. We write the screenplay in industry format, with scene headings, action and dialogue.
  5. Notes and rewrites. You give notes, and we revise through the agreed rounds. The most helpful notes describe what you felt at a moment in the story, and leave the fix to the writer.
  6. Final script. You receive the finished script as an editable file and a PDF.
05

Honest Expectations About Selling or Producing a Script

We write screenplays. We do not sell them, and we cannot promise that any script will be bought, optioned, produced or released, or that it will win a place in a competition. Screen projects depend on budgets, casting, timing and many decisions that sit with other people.

Many producers and agencies do not read unsolicited scripts, and a polished script is only the first step. Treat it as a strong calling card and a sample of your voice. Some clients use a finished script to attract a director, to apply for funding or to shoot a low-budget version themselves. The Writers Guild of America publishes information that new screenwriters find useful, and we encourage you to read before approaching buyers.

Be cautious of anyone who promises a sale. A good plan is to polish the script, register it, make a short list of realistic recipients and consider a lawyer or manager when real interest arrives. Patience helps, because most scripts take a long time to find the right reader.

06

Turnaround and What Affects the Cost

Pricing is quoted per project after a free consultation, as a fixed written quote with milestones and no hidden fees. The main drivers are the format and length, how much development you need, whether we adapt an existing book, the number of rewrites and how fast you can respond. Our pricing page explains how quotes work.

A short film is a small project, a feature is a large one, and a series package with a pilot and bible is larger again. The timeline is confirmed in the written quote and depends on length, research and feedback speed. Rush schedules are available for an additional fee, quoted up front.

07

Ownership and Confidentiality

We sign an NDA before any ghostwriting work starts. You own everything we write for you. Rights transfer on delivery, confirmed in writing at the start of the project, and we keep no copyright, royalty interest or credit claim.

We recommend registering your script. The U.S. Copyright Office explains how. Before you sign any option or purchase agreement, speak with an entertainment lawyer. We are writers, and we cannot advise on deals, contracts or the value of a script. If a producer wants to talk, bring in your lawyer first.

Screenplay Writing FAQs

How long is a screenplay?

Features are commonly ninety to a hundred and twenty pages, shorts range from a few pages to about thirty, and a television pilot depends on the format. We confirm the target length with you at the start.

Can you write a screenplay from my book or idea?

Yes. We adapt novels and memoirs, and we develop original ideas from a logline or notes. You keep the rights in your underlying work, and we agree the scope in writing.

Will you guarantee my script is sold or produced?

No. No honest writer can. We deliver a well-built script in proper format, but buyers and producers make their own decisions.

Do I own the screenplay?

Yes. Rights transfer to you on delivery, confirmed in writing at the start. We keep no copyright, royalty interest or publishing claim, and an NDA protects your material.

Do you format scripts to industry standard?

Yes. Scripts follow the standard layout of scene headings, action lines and dialogue, and we deliver an editable file and a PDF. If a competition or a producer asks for a particular layout, tell us early.
