Refund Policy

We want every author to feel confident about what they are paying for. This policy explains how refunds work alongside our milestone payment structure. Your written agreement may add to it, and if the two differ, your agreement applies.
Milestone payments
Projects are paid in milestones, so you are never far ahead of the work you have seen. Each milestone payment covers the work delivered at that stage.
Before work begins
If you cancel before any work on a milestone has started, we will refund the payment for that milestone in full.
After work begins
Once work on a milestone is under way, payments for that milestone are non-refundable, and we will deliver the completed work to you. If you are unhappy with a deliverable, we will first revise it within the revision rounds included in your agreement.
Sample chapter guarantee
For ghostwriting projects, if you are not satisfied with the sample chapter after revisions and choose not to continue, you pay only for the work completed up to that point.
Third-party costs
Printing, ISBNs, advertising spend, stock image licences and other third-party costs are non-refundable once we have incurred them.
How to request a refund
Email info@smallpressdistribution.com with your project reference. We respond within five business days, and we send approved refunds to the original payment method.
