Songwriting Services: Custom Lyrics and Songs Written for You

Songwriting services give you a writer who turns your idea, story or feeling into original lyrics and a complete song structure. You tell us the subject, the mood and the genre. We write the verses, the chorus and the bridge, and we shape the hook so it sticks in the head.

01

What Our Songwriting Services Cover

We are a writing company, so our core work is the words: lyrics, song structure, rhyme and meter, and guidance on melody and phrasing. We can write to your existing music or suggest a melodic shape for you or your collaborator to develop.

Recorded demos, instrumental tracks, vocal performance and production are separate skills. We include them only if your written quote says so, and we will tell you plainly, in writing, what is and is not covered before you commit. Many clients take our lyrics to their own producer, band or studio. Others hand us a finished melody and ask for words that fit.

A good lyric does a few things at once. It has one clear idea, images the listener can picture, a chorus that says the main thing in the simplest way and verses that add something new each time. We write toward that, and we read every line aloud, because a lyric that looks good on paper can be hard to sing.

02

Who Hires a Songwriter

Working artists and bands in need of new material. Singers who write melodies but struggle with words. Couples, families and event hosts who want a personal song for a wedding or milestone. Businesses with a campaign, and theatre makers who need lyrics for a musical. Performers promoting a book or show sometimes ask us for a theme song, and musicians who need artist biographies can pair this with our bio writing services. You do not need to read music or have written a song before.

Songs We Write

Every genre has its own habits, and we write to yours.

Lyrics for artists and bands

Original lyrics in your genre and point of view, with a hook, a clear story and lines that suit your voice. We can write alone or alongside your own ideas, keeping your best lines and building around them. If you have a voice recording or a few phrases, send those and we will start there.

Custom songs for weddings and milestones

Personal songs built from your real stories, names and details. We keep them short, singable and honest. We ask about the couple's real story, the inside jokes and the details that make people smile, and we avoid clichés that could belong to anyone. Family songs and memorial songs follow the same approach, with extra care for tone.

Jingles and brand songs

Short, catchy songs that carry a name or a message. The brief is tighter, so every syllable matters. We write several hook options, because the name or slogan has to fit naturally, and we keep the claims honest. For wider campaign copy, see our brand storytelling.

Songs for stage and storytelling

Lyrics that move a story forward, for musicals, shows and narrative projects. Related scripts are covered in our screenplay writing services.

Lyric rewrites and polish

Your draft, improved: tighter rhymes, a stronger chorus and cleaner phrasing.

How Our Songwriting Process Works

  1. Consultation. We discuss the purpose, the genre, the mood and any music you already have. An NDA is available for unreleased work.
  2. Creative brief. We note the story, key phrases, names and references you like, plus what you want to avoid.
  3. First draft. You receive lyrics with a clear structure and notes on melody and phrasing, such as where the song should lift and where it should breathe.
  4. Feedback. You tell us what lands. We revise through the agreed rounds.
  5. Final lyrics. You receive the finished song as a lyric sheet with structure and delivery notes.
05

Copyright, Credit and Splits

You own what we write for you. Rights transfer on delivery, confirmed in writing at the start of the project, and we keep no copyright, royalty interest or publishing share. If you plan to work with other writers, producers or performers, agree credit and ownership shares in writing with them before the song is released. Disputes over splits are common and avoidable, and a one-page agreement signed early usually prevents them.

A song can involve two kinds of copyright, one in the musical work and lyrics and another in a recording. To register, see the U.S. Copyright Office, which also offers information on music licensing. Songwriters often also join a performing rights organization (several operate in the United States), and The MLC collects mechanical royalties for streaming and downloads in the United States.

We cannot promise streams, playlist spots, radio play, publishing deals or label interest. Talk to an entertainment lawyer before you sign any publishing or record agreement.

06

Turnaround and What Affects the Cost

Pricing is quoted per project after a free consultation, as a fixed written quote with milestones and no hidden fees. The main drivers are the number of songs, the length and complexity, how much research or storytelling is needed, any demo or music work included, the number of revision rounds and how quickly you give feedback. Our pricing page explains how quotes work. One custom song is a small project, and a full album of lyrics is a large one, so the quote reflects the number of songs. If the same song needs several versions, such as a short jingle and a long edit, say so at the start.

The timeline is confirmed in the written quote and depends on length, research and feedback speed. Rush schedules are available for an additional fee, quoted up front.

07

Confidentiality

An NDA is signed before ghostwriting work begins, which keeps unreleased lyrics, personal stories and surprises private. If a song is a gift, we share drafts only with you, and we can send them in a form that is easy to keep hidden. Personal details about you, your family and your plans stay inside the project team.

Songwriting Services FAQs

Do you write the music or only the lyrics?

Our core work is lyrics, structure and melody guidance. Recorded demos and music production are covered only if your written quote says so, and we will confirm exactly what is included before you start.

Will you get my song on streaming playlists or signed?

No. We cannot promise placements, streams, publishing deals or label interest. We write the song, and we encourage you to speak with an entertainment lawyer before any deal.

Who owns the song?

You do. Rights transfer on delivery, confirmed in writing at the start. If others contribute, agree credit and splits with them in writing.

Can you write to music I already have?

Yes. Send the track or a rough recording, and we fit the words to the rhythm, the phrasing and the mood of the music.

How do I register my song?

You can register with the U.S. Copyright Office, and many writers also join a performing rights organization. Registration is your responsibility, and an entertainment lawyer can advise you.
